Ron Rothenberg:
I began my career in marketing and sales after graduating from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. degree, and then later adding an MBA in Marketing & Finance. Prior to embarking upon a career in real estate in 1999, I held various senior leadership positions in marketing and corporate sales with Fortune 100 telecommunications and data networking companies. I left that world after spending too many weekend hours on airplanes crossing the US, and too many days away from my family. Call it a mid-life “awakening”, I realized that my children were only going to be young once, and I needed more flexibility and time to spend with them. I look back with no regrets.
Entering the world of real estate marketing 10 years ago was a natural transition for me. As a long-term investor in both commercial and residential properties, I already knew the business better than many. My professional experience in corporate America had enabled me to build a portfolio of skills in customer service, finance, sales, marketing, technology, and negotiating that few real estate professionals can match. Over the years, I have continued to build upon my technical skills in the application of technology to the marketing of our clients’ homes. As a real estate professional, I take pride in being highly focused on the needs of our clients, results oriented, and achieving a level of professionalism that is uncommon in this business. I have been published nationally with articles written on the use of information technology in real estate, as well as being invited to speak on the subject in a multitude of industry forums.
You can always count on professional, comprehensive and honest counsel from me. Hopefully, you’ll see that reflected throughout my writings on this blog site.
Susan Rothenberg:
I received my undergraduate degree and graduate certifications in education from the University of California with highest honors, leading to a brief career in teaching and counseling. Although I formally transitioned to real estate as a full-time profession in 1983, I find that my skills in negotiation, facilitation, and counseling are as important now as they were earlier in my education career. I am intensely interested in people, and I have built my business around the formation of meaningful relationships with my clients as they embark upon one of the most important financial transactions of their life. Being a trusted counselor is one of the most important dimensions of this relationship. I understand the financial magnitude of the real estate transaction, the importance of balancing the needs of a family, and the significant impact relocation will have on everyone involved. I strive to make the real estate transaction a positive experience that leads to an exciting beginning in your new home.
I am extremely proud of the successful business that we have built while maintaining an active level of involvement in our community and being involved parents with our two sons. I see this accomplishment as a reflection of our ability to understand people’s needs — being responsive, professional, and highly ethical in all of our real estate relationships. My clients tell me that I really listen, and that I sincerely care about them. With over 80 percent of my business generated from client referrals, I truly strive to build long-term relationships. I refer to it as simply developing clients for life!

Great info!
Thank you!!!!!
Ron and Susan,
I saw that you are signed up to attend the Active Rain event in San Francisco and went to the link to your blog. I read the article about the frustrations of financing Jumbo transactions and , unfortunately we, a branch of RPM Mortgage (I assume you know of RPM), face the same problems. Anything requiring a loan up to $729,000 is manageable. Anything requiring a Jumbo loan is a crap shoot. I hate to say it.
At any rate, your blog is well written and informative. I hope to meet you at the Active Rain event.
